Excellence Rules at Fayette County Public Schools

From Perfect ACT Scores to College Scholarships, FCPS Students Enjoy Success

By Emmanuel Caulk, Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent.

Every child who enters the Fayette County Public Schools has unique strengths and talents. Our job as a school district is to provide each student with the experiences needed to reach his or her unlimited potential by ensuring that each individual is inspired to learn, supported to succeed and challenged to discover their path to success in college, career and life.

Recognizing that one size does not fit all, the district augments the offerings in traditional schools with a variety of GT, Magnet, and Special Academic programs designed to meet the diverse learning needs of our students.

Whether your child wants to be an ambassador or an artist, a scientist or a singer, and engineer or an entrepreneur, an inventor or an Ivy League professor, we have advanced programs that will help them achieve their dreams.

Consider this:

  • This past summer, we had 28 SCAPA Lafayette students attend Governors School for the Arts and 8 SCAPA Lafayette students attend Governors Scholars Program. In addition, our 54 2019 SCAPA Lafayette graduates received more than $8 million in scholarship offers.
  • The 2019 graduates from the Liberal Arts Academy included 38 AP Diploma recipients, 13 National AP Scholars, and 9 National Merit Finalists. Students completed an average of 12 AP classes and averaged a 32 on the ACT. The graduates also received slightly more than $12 million dollars in scholarship offers from over 95 different colleges and universities.
  • 100 percent of the 28 members of Spanish Immersion Program Class of 2019 at Bryan Station earned the FCPS Seal of Biliteracy and passed the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam.
  • The graduates of the Math, Science, and Technology Center at Paul Laurence Dunbar included 28 National Merit Finalists, 15 Presidential Scholar Candidates, 13 perfect ACT scores, and 1 International Science and Engineering Fair Winner.
