What do you think is the appropriate age to get your child a cell phone?

• “My son was caught up in way too much social drama in 6th grade without a phone. There is no need to add that kind of stress and responsibility onto our children too early.” – Andrea Harvey Davis
• “I think high school age is appropriate. Even then I think guidelines should be established. We made the mistake of getting our oldest a phone at 10 and that was a terrible idea.” – Nichole Satterwhite
• “I wouldn’t recommend getting a child one until 8th grade or freshman year. Such a distraction and early adolescent kids can’t handle the responsibility that comes with it and lack self-control.” – Maria C. Wertzler
