YMCA Receives $8,500 Grant for GaGa Pits

The YMCA of Central Kentucky is proud to announce it received a generous grant from the Honorable Order Kentucky Colonels in the amount of $8,500 to purchase two GaGa Pits which will be used for the Whitaker Family YMCA’s after school program and outdoor summer camps.

GaGa, a game that combines dodging, tagging, running, and jumping in an octagon “pit” is immensely popular with young program participants and is designed to keep them physically active and mentally stimulated.

“We are so grateful to the Kentucky Colonels for making these resources available,” said Bobbi Silver, YMCA vice president philanthropy. “The new GaGa pits will be a big hit with our children, providing an outlet for wholesome fun, physical activity and building new friendships, for years to come.”

The YMCA of Central Kentucky serves tens of thousands of children and families in central Kentucky each year and never turns anyone away do to financial circumstances.
