“Mighty Pups” DVD Review & Giveaway

Review by Katie Saltz

Paw Patrol is one of those rare shows that all three of my children will watch together (ages 7, 3 and 1.) They recently sat down to view “Mighty Pups,” the all-new Paw Patrol movie.

After a mysterious meteor lands in Adventure Bay, the Paw Patrol team acquires Mighty Pup super powers. Of course that pesky Mayor Humdinger and his nephew manage to cause trouble for the pups. Ryder is trapped and the pups have to use their powers to save him.

I asked my 7-year-old her thoughts on the movie and she noted how Chase had to find his confidence to save the day. Despite having super powers, he still felt lost without Ryder to lead the way. It was a great lesson in believing in yourself.

My 3-year-old got super pumped up during the movie’s opening credits, which is a modified version of the usual Paw Patrol theme song. He loves superheroes but many superhero shows have too much physical violence for my liking. This movie was a great solution to get his superhero fix with a plot that didn’t require any combat or fighting.

The movie is less than an hour long, which is the sweet spot for a young child’s attention span. The DVD is now available at Walmart ahead of the TV debut. “Mighty Pups” is surefire win for any Paw Patrol fan.
