Bluegrass Baby Expo Comes to Lexington Sept. 15

The Bluegrass Baby Expo returns to downtown Lexington for its second year of sharing about maternity, baby and toddler resources in Central Kentucky.

The Expo will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Lexington Convention Center. Founder and coordinator Chante Perryman said she was inspired to create the event as a family fun day that was also full of information.

“I wanted to offer an opportunity for these families to gather information in one place that would be beneficial for them as they are beginning their parenting journey,” she said.

Exhibitors at the expo range from care providers, early childhood enrichment classes, photographers, doulas, preschools, boutiques and more. Experts will lead interactive parent education workshops.

Special events are planned throughout the day including the “Fastest Dad in Town” contest, announcing the winner of the Cutest Baby of the Bluegrass contest, and a new contest called “Future Baby of the Bluegrass,” a contest for currently pregnant moms.

The Expo will appeal to new and growing families who live or work in Central Kentucky, Perryman said.

“Mainly those who are planning to have a new baby soon, caregivers who are trying to find some free to low cost activities during the daytime, and even for those who are getting ready to have preschoolers,” she said.

Admission to the event is $10, and children 12 and under are free. The first 300 attendees will receive a “swag bag” full of samples and coupons.
