Whitaker Family YMCA to Add Outdoor Pavilion

The Whitaker Family YMCA in Hamburg will dedicate a new outdoor pavilion to shelter its summer camp participants on Tuesday, June 26 at 10 a.m.

Through the support of the Lexington-based Kloiber Foundation, the new pavilion is roughly 4,000 square feet and will feature new restrooms, water fountains, permanent shaded areas, picnic tables and storage space.

“YMCA summer camp now has the facilities needed to better serve children and their families for years to come,” said David Martorano, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Kentucky.

The Kloiber Foundation is focused on providing students and educators with the proper technology to enhance learning in the classroom. One part of the Kloiber Foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of the community through programs and outreach.

Similarly, the YMCA of Central Kentucky believes that access to family health and wellness facilities should not only be affordable but also available to everyone.

As a charitable nonprofit organization, the YMCA of Central Kentucky provides more than $1 million in scholarships to ensure the Y’s doors are always open for those most in need and to help make YMCA membership and programs affordable for all.
