Essentials Car Seats by Britax Review

Britax Emblem

Every mom knows that dreaded moment of having to adjust the harness straps on your child’s car seat. Removing the seat, un-threading the straps, re-threading the straps, then re-installing the seat can be a major pain.

That process is a whole lot easier with the Britax Emblem. You don’t have to unhook anything to adjust the harness straps on this convertible car seat!  You simply squeeze the lever and adjust the headrest to proper height for your child. The harness straps move along with the headrest.

The push-button LATCH connectors make installing this seat simple. Many seats grow with your child, but not all of them are this easy to adjust as your child grows.

I also loved the reclining feature on the Britax Emblem. The seat reclines independently of the base, so you can adjust the seat to the proper angle and the base stays level and secure. This comes in handy with newborns that don’t have head control and need a deeper recline.

The Britax Emblem combines safety and convenience. The impact absorbing base and the impact stabilizing steel frame give me peace of mind that this seat will protect my child in a crash. And the harness system and reclining feature make things easier when you need to adjust the seat to fit your child’s needs.

Britax Skyline

The Britax Skyline is one of the most cushioned belt-positioning high-back boosters I have seen. My 7-year-old noted it felt more like her old convertible seat with the deep side walls, which provide head, torso and pelvic side impact protection.

I had never used a belt-positioning booster that had a LATCH system. I absolutely love the push-button LATCH system for this booster, which is easy to attach and release. It made the booster sit snug against the car seat and my daughter couldn’t accidentally wiggle it out of place.

We have three children in car seats, so fitting three-across can be a challenge for our family. The Skyline fit between two convertible seats in our car and our daughter could still reach the seat buckle beside her. (And the dishwasher-safe cup holders are a major bonus for easy clean-up!)
