The Lexington Children Theatre’s stage will be busy this month with two shows scheduled.

“Elephant & Piggie’s ‘We Are in a Play!’” based on the popular book series by Mo Willems, finds the best friends in their very own musical. There will be singing, dancing and playfulness as these two team up with the singing Squirelles for a fun adventure that will have the audience singing and dancing to the beat.

Showtimes are Saturday, March 3 at 2 & 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m. at LCT’s Main Stage at 418 W. Short St.

This show is recommended for ages 4 & up and lasts one hour. Tickets are $16 for children and $19 for adults.

The second March performance is “Afternoon of the Elves,” based on the book by Janet Taylor Lisle that explores friendship, imagination and empathy.

Hillary could not figure out how the most unpopular girl in school had an elf village in her backyard. Sara Kate shows Hillary the elf village that has little houses, a well and even a Ferris wheel made from an old bicycle tire.

This one-hour show is recommended for ages 8 & up. Showtimes are Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m.; Saturday, March 24 at 2 & 7 p.m.;  and Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m.

Tickets for children and adults are $16. Info: (859) 254- 4546 or www.lctonstage.org
