17th Annual Elder Care Tour
Welcome to the 17th annual Elder Care Tour, an award-winning, one-of-a-kind event in Central Kentucky sponsored by Lexington Family Magazine.
Aging can present special challenges to the whole family, especially when a loved one is no longer able to live alone.
The Tour is designed to help families address these issues before a crisis hits.
This is your chance to be prepared.
On Saturday, May 13, from 1:30-5 p.m., participating retirement communities in Central Kentucky will host free open houses.
The open houses are designed to let older adults, their adult children and other caregivers educate themselves about elder care housing options in a relaxed, unpressured atmosphere.
Plus, tour visitors this year can enter to win an Gaylord Opryland Vacation Package.

“The Health Club for Seniors With Help At Home.“ Aging With Grace is a health club for seniors where people over age 50 can get help with medical concerns, nutrition, hygiene and exercising in a fun and stimulating environment. Members can get help at home too: transportation, personal care including bathing, meal preparation, shopping, money management, home repair and maintenance, lawn mowing and landscaping.

Ashland Terrace is a small, independent living retirement community for older women. Meals, transportation, housekeeping, linens and activities/outings are provided in a loving environment. The home also features a public cutting garden. Rents are privately subsidized and below market rates for the services provided.

Situated on 30+ acres, the rural setting includes a duck pond and green space, while within easy access of shopping, banking, restaurants and medical services in the Hamburg area of Lexington. Note: The open house is Sunday, 2-4 p.m.
