Registration for students entering Fayette County Public Schools for the first time is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays from July 29 through Aug. 12, (the first day of school). The following documents are required at registration: Child’s birth certificate and two proofs of residence, such as a property deed, sale agreement or current lease agreement in your name and a secondary document such as a utility bill.

School Orientation Dates
> High Schools: Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
> Middle Schools: Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.
> Elementary Schools: Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

Kindergarten orientation: Mark your calendars for the Kindergarten Kickoff, an orientation for all incoming students. The dates are July 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug. 3 from 2 to 7 p.m. Call your school for details and an appointment.

Medical Requirements
Immunizations: All students must have a valid Kentucky immunization certificate. For list of immunizations, contact Fayette County schools at www.fcps.net or 381-4130.
Medical Examinations: Every student, including transfers, must have a medical exam within one year of entering school. And all incoming sixth-graders must have another physical within one year of school’s start.
Eye Exam: All children, ages 3-6, entering school for the first time must have an exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist no later than Jan. 1 of the school year.
