Central Kentucky tweens (9-13-year-olds) have the whole month of July to continue to choose their VERB.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s popular VERB Summer Scorecard program is in full swing this month, with fitness activities happening all over town.

The summer of fun concludes with the Grand Finale on Friday, July 31, 6-8:30 p.m. at Southland Aquatic Center.

At the finale, participants will be eligible to win Nintendo Wii packages, iPod Shuffles, bicycles, skateboards and many other prizes.

Leading up to the finale, the program encourages kids to be active by offering free or reduced prices to various summer activities in the area for kids who present their VERB cards.

Participating businesses include Champ’s, Paintball Hill, Lexington Gymnastics Center, Bounce U, Collins Bowling Centers, Lexington Ice Center, Kids Place and more. Summer camp discounts are available at Alpha Farm, Fantasia Farm and more.

Participants keep track of their activity on a Scorecard, available online at www.verbsummerscorecard.com or at Lexington-Fayette County Public Library branches and all three YMCA locations.

All Scorecard participants who register and track their activity hours online or bring a completed or partially completed scorecard to the finale will receive a prize package.
