Join the YMCA of Central Kentucky for a series of free yoga classes in Triangle Park at 400 W. Main St. in downtown Lexington. The 13-week series will be held for one-hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 6:30 a.m. from June 6 through Aug. 31.
No contracts. No excuses. Just free yoga in Triangle Park. All classes are led by trained YMCA instructors.
“Every day we welcome new people into the Y community,” said President and CEO David Martorano. “This is a fun, exciting opportunity for the Y to engage with our downtown community and encourage everyone to be active and healthy.
“Each participant will gain the skills and knowledge to attend a variety of yoga classes offered at the Y – which all are included in a membership,” Martorano said.
Some of the benefits of yoga include increased flexibility, strengthened and toned muscles, improved respiration, weight reduction and improved metabolism.
All ages and fitness levels are welcome to attend. Bring your own yoga mat or beach towel since each session will take place in the grassy area. Classes will be canceled in the event of inclement weather, including rain.
