Shows, Audition Class, Celebrity Curtain Call at LCT in April

It’s a busy month at the Lexington Children’s Theatre, with the two plays, an audition class and LCT’s ninth annual Celebrity Curtain Call fundraiser.

It’s a bug’s life at the beginning of April, with the play “Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly.” You might find that being a bug is not all that different from bee-ing you!

Showtimes at the LCT Main Stage are 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 9; 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday April 15; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for children. The play is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Audition prep classes for actors 9 and older for LCT’s 16th annual Summer Family Musical are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 10, 12 and 13 at 7-8:30 p.m. Tuition is $60.

At the end of the month, “Red Badge of Courage,” based on the novel by Stephen Crane, follows Henry Fleming from his hometown to the Union Army.

The show is recommended for ages 9 and up. Showtimes at the LCT Main Stage are 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 29; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for children.

On Saturday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m., LCT will host its ninth annual Celebrity Curtain Call. After cocktails and heavy hor d’oeuvres, local celebrities will perform on stage. A live and silent action follows. Tickets are $85.
