Eat Well With Better Bites, Good to Go Bike

snack-strong-logoTired of eating fast food at the pool or ballpark?

The Better Bites program is back for its third year of providing healthy food choices for families.

When you visit local public pools, Lexington Legends games, some restaurants and the 17 state parks, you will find healthy meals and snacks available for your family thanks to Better Bites.

Fresh fruit, veggie dippers with light Ranch dressing, popsicles and sunflower seeds are on the menu along with chicken salad on whole wheat bread, chicken sandwiches and wraps.

All are priced as economically as hamburgers and candy bars.

“We know if we put healthy food in front of kids, they’ll eat it,” nutrition advocate Anita Courtney said.

Better Bites is adding the Good To Go Bike to its arsenal of smart snacking tools this summer.

You’ll find this mobile food service offering healthy snacks for just a $1 or more at local community centers, camps, churches, parades, 5K runs and other community events.

Said Courtney: “We’re making healthy food fun.”
